DANCE TODAY!
Dance Today! May 2005

End of this month we are there yet again — the legendary  annual Blackpool Dance Festival will kick off on May 27 going through until June 3. With all the publicity Ballroom dancing has received over the last year, it will be quite interesting to see if and how it will feature in the media and also, how audience numbers will turn out. If you consider going and would like to try and obtain some last minute tickets, you can contact the Dance Festival Office, Winter Gardens, Church Street, Blackpool, FY1 1HW, England,
telephone + 44 (0) 1253 625252,
fax +44 (0) 1253 299347.
Forms available on www.blackpooldancefestival.com. Please note ticket application forms must be sent by post or faxed.
Also this month, many villages will celebrate May Day in traditional style involving May dances around the Maypole and Morris dancing. Catherine Rose has investigated the history of those dances in part 1 of her feature and will report back after attending an actual event in next month’s issue.
The spring clean/get in shape issue continues in Julie Burn’s Dance Boutique with the latest tips on hair and feet (page 22-25) and in Tracy Jo Figueroa’s interviews with Latin stars about their secret fitness routines (pages 28-29).

Hope you enjoy the issue.
