DANCE TODAY!
Dance Today! March 2005

The year has only just started and yet, Easter is upon us this month. Another long weekend asking to be spent somewhere away from home? (For some inspiration check out various dance breaks in our listings).

With the UK Open 2005 report by Bryan Allen, we have finally managed to catch up with what’s been happening in the competition world over the past months. There were new winners in both major titles — Timothy Howson and Joanne Bolton in the Professional Modern took over from former winners Christopher Hawkins and Hazel Newberry after their split and Slavik Kryklyvyy and Karina Smirnoff in the Professional Latin, who took over from Bryan Watson and Carmen who are currently taking some time out. Slavik and Karina have also been part of the new movie dance Shall We Dance? — on pages 24-26 they tell Tracy Jo Figueroa more about this experience of working with international stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere.

With the winter days hopefully over by the end of this month, it’s time to shape up for that spring wardrobe showing off tanned and toned skin. Anyone in need of a little help to get over this transition period from pale winter skin, check out Rachel Holland’s feature on various fake tans. On the toning side, there’s a new workout DVD out, that might be useful. I spoke to the Andy Instone, the man behind Phat Moves.

Happy Easter, hope you enjoy the issue.
