DANCE TODAY!
Dance Today! February 2005

This month – who could forget - is Valentine’s day – have you got anything planned for your loved one? What is more appropriate than taking her/him to a dance – possibly some nice food, some inspiring conversation, some interesting people and the experience of music and dance – hard to beat! There’s still time – check out our listings pages for an event near you!

If you rather consume than deliver, why not go and book a show for the two of you – after  starring in Eastenders for a good while, Jill Halfpenny has joined the cast of Chicago. How all this came about and how she feels about it you can read on pages 24-25.

Another option is to take your partner to the Purcell Room at the London Southbank — Barr Go Sáil show Irish dancing in its traditional form quite different from Riverdance  as Terry Monaghan explains on pages 26-28.

For those of you more interested in competitions, we have Bryan Allen’s take on the British National 2004, and also for the Sequence fans among you, the report of the Sequence Dance Festival in Blackpool on pages 39-42.

Remember our Makeover competition in December? The lucky couple who won are featured being transformed on pages 19-23. Want to make a style change for that special date? Just look for some tips and tricks by Julie Burns and her team as to be seen on our Style pages.

Have a wonderful February
