DANCE TODAY!
Dance Today! October 2004

Last month, the Ballroom world was in shock when, at the Ballroom Blitz, reigning World Modern Champions Christopher Hawkins and Hazel Newberry announced the end of their dance partnership. Despite a certain sadness to see this wonderful couple, who have delighted so many with their dancing over those years, go separate ways, we, of course, wish them both the very best for the future. In an interview on pages 20-23 they reflect on twelve and a half years of their successful partnership.

Flamenco seems to be the flavour of the month with new shows all over the place (see our news pages 6 and 7) and Carole Edrich has a look at its origins and what exactly is on offer in the London Flamenco scene today in a feature on pages 24-27.

Murderous Instincts, the Salsa musical we previewed last month, has just had its premiere in Norwich and already seems to be going through a bit of trouble. Why and what Stephen Albrow thought of it, you can find out on page 28.

With the busy Ballroom season kicking off, I hope, nevertheless you’ll have enough time to sit down for a minute and enjoy your latest Dance Today! issue.
