DANCE TODAY!
Dance Today! June 2004

How time flies. Summer is here, we are half way into the year, and the dancing calender is at its busiest. So much so, that in this issue I had to hold several competition reports back due to a lack of space. But I promise you won’t miss out on them. They will all be featured in next month’s issue along with, as every year in July, the report from the Blackpool festival by Bryan Allen.

This month, you will find a variety of features that I hope you find interesting. I went along to the Crystal Palace Dancesport Cup and talked to organiser Olga Komarova about the event and her role as organiser, the result of which you can read about on pages 16-18. We feature an article on Ballroom dancing at university — a topic I thought was very interesting and not talked about as much as it possibly should be.

Also, with the 1950s celebrating their come back in fashion, those Lindy Hoppers amongst you are full in the trend. Check out the Swing Bus 2004 article on pages 26-27. Fancy a bit of a Swing tour through Europe? Or — with the holiday season starting — do you feel more like a dance and cruise holiday? Get some inspiration from Judy Cree’s holiday diary on pages 21-25.

I hope there’s something for everyone again.

Enjoy the sun!
