DANCE TODAY!
Dance Today! May 2004

Yet again, Ballroom dancing's biggest and most renowned festival is upon us this month with the UK Open in Blackpool kicking off on May 28. With the competitions mushrooming at this time of the year, why not brush up a bit on the essential issue of "Style" (pages 26-27).
At the same time Ballroom seems to experience even more of a comeback making its way into our living rooms via the telly: Eastenders recently featured a storyline that involved residents of the square going off on holiday and enjoy some Ballroom dancing, and in Australia as well as over here, an evening entertainment show featuring competition dancing is televised. The BBC's Strictly Come Dancing will air on May 15 (see our news pages). You can read about Australia's Strictly Dancing's success story on pages 20-21.
Iris Findlay has more details about the EADA National Amateur Training course and the people involved (pages 22-25).
Also, keep up to date with what's going on in the danceworld and see whether you are affected with our Dancescene section, featuring reports on various dance events as well as the BDC meeting and an interesting article outlining the advisory committee to the WD&DSC -- CASE by Hazel Fletcher.
