September 2009

And so it starts again. The “Strictly Come Dancing” season is upon us, and changes abound: from movements within the judging panel and new faces in the professional line-up, to a completely re-vamped website and the announcement that Sunday night’s results programme will be abandoned in favour of an extended Saturday show, which will come as welcome news to many readers. We, too, are ringing in the changes here at Dancing Times Ltd, and having moved back into our newly refurbished offices last month, we say goodbye to respected colleague and friend, Patricia Daly, who retired at the end of August. Many readers will know Patricia as the fount of dance-related knowledge on our Book and DVD service, which closes with her departure following the liquidation of our main supplier of dance DVDs last summer. The remaining stock will still be available to buy online, by post and by telephone, and Kim Thompson will now be the point of contact as she expands her existing role as subscriptions manager to encompass sales. We will continue to review new releases, including details of where they can be purchased, as we endeavour to further strengthen the magazine and bring you all the latest from the world of dance with each issue.
